The Return of The Poet
With new lines of poetry he now returns—
The Poet, whose heart, desireful, burns.
Resuming his shattered onstage debut
He vows to reclaim the audience anew.
“Don’t dare deny sour taste of defeat,
Skies are the limit, success is so sweet!
Don’t get debased by defeats of the day,
Whatever your loss, success will repay!”
The crowd acknowledged the first lines with glares
Of rich men and women those were the stares.
The poet replied the ignorant fools,
Who only treasured their money and jewels:
“Speak to your heart, as it’s willing to hear
Your dreams and feelings, even those of fear.
The money can wait – it is here to stay,
But you and your heart will soon pass away.”
He screamed to release his grudge and his grief,
Only to find, with the utmost relief,
The audience was gone, and so was his stage,
And then, he lifted his face off the page.
