Well, this has been long time coming, but I finally had to migrate the system to a virtual machine. Either the motherboard, CPU or graphics card started acting up, and I couldn't be bothered to troubleshoot it past replacing the power supply, so then I decided to make an image of the system drives. The http setup is too convoluted to recreate on a newer/different OS, so I opted to morph the backup into a virtual disk drive instead, and did a repair install to make it boot again. Worked much better than I expected, so now I have a working system - but virtualized!

There was a brief downtime (circa 3 days) due to inclement weather causing a power outage and, consequently, the boot drive to fail on the http server... While that is still in the process of getting sorted out, I've temporarily moved the page onto another computer. New OS and all is forthcoming. I'll keep you updated.

After some hard looks, I was able to figure out and fix some final problems with the layout - involving the selection box in IE6 and IE7 ... the fix turning out to be encasing it in a div... just great, brilliant >.<;;; the other dealt with columns grossly misaligning for whatever reason.... fixed that too, more or less. It's still moving over a pixel or so, but no longer as glaring as it was. I'll keep it this way for my (in)sanity's sake. Cheers.

Joy! Layout fixed for IE6. The secret? As bizarre as that sounds, just adding display:inline to the content container styling solved it... apparently there's a bug where the styles containing margins but not the display:inline will have the margins ... doubled. Don't ask, I was in disbelief too XD
Bottom line is, it works. There just remains a slightly annoying display artifact where the selection boxes aren't vertically centered in IE6 and IE7, but it really doesn't affect function as it is ... so just upgrade to IE8, people XD

Oops... looks like my new layout made a boo boo - affecting, of course, only IE, and only versions 6 and down. I'll be working to correct this boo boo as soon as I get a little time to spare. In the meanwhile, sorry, but use something more compliant with standards, like FF, Chrome or Opera :P

Voting capability is now functional! After hours of painstaking work, and then ironing out some typos and inconsistencies, the Poetry section is now officially complete!
*pops the champagne*
Go and enjoy! :D

I just finished working out the final layout of the Poetry category listing pages - all that's left for me to do is put in the voting/rating capability, and I'll hit the ground running! After a lot of effort, this sure feels good :D

After some major difficulty dealing with some of the more pesky issues surrounding the poetry viewing pages, I managed to provide a very basic browseable page system for the Poetry section. It's nowhere near neat, but it's functional. I'll be adding tables to make it look by far neater in the nearest future. Until then, what is currently in place will have to suffice. And no, rating isn't implemented yet either :P

I just opened the poetry page for public viewing, but it still needs some code to be put in. I'll keep working on it while letting the work in progress be visible to the public. Hope you don't mind some unclean stuff there ;) I also figured out and fixed a nasty bug with the layout where insufficient content would make the content and navbar backgrounds mix in an ugly manner.... it's all straight and measured no matter the length of the content, yay!

I'm done putting through all the poems into the database... yes, all 66 of them. Right now, I'll need to grind out the PHP code to drive the display of poems - not an easy task, but once done, I'm sure the results will shine.
