Warm Christmas
Great warmth will spread throughout the holidays,
As rooms are duly warmed,
A smile will freeze upon the tired face
While truth will be deformed.
Bright lights upon the Christmas tree will hang,
Let luster fill the room,
While disillusions strike the heart and pang
In solitary gloom.
Let sleep be sweet as candy given out
By Santa, in his taste.
One can’t forget a sour, growing doubt
In what much trust’s been placed.
But never mind great warmth and Christmas lights
That mark the season’s tone,
While preparations busy friends, what bites
Is being left alone.
